† † ?I Owe It All to Community College,? an op-ed piece published in The New York Times and written by Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks, gives readers insight on the impact Chabot College, a community college in Hayward, California, had on his life.

The Northeast Police Academy at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is now accepting applications for its next evening police academy, which begins on†Monday,†March 2†and will run through September 2015.

The evening academy†meets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.††This program is designed for working adults who may not have time to complete the daytime academy.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Foundation will host its annual Distinguished Lecture Series event on†Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.†at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.†This year's lecture will be presented by New York Times bestselling author Laura Schroff.†
