Baseball wins conference opener against Paris

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Eagles (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) baseball team is off to a strong start after winning their conference opener against Paris Junior College 4-1 on Thursday.


Neither team put any runs on the board until a series of errors by Paris in the top of the fifth led to the Eagles gaining a three-run advantage. A walk, a balk, and a batter being hit by pitch loaded the bases, putting ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº in scoring position. This was followed by an error by the Paris shortstop, which allowed Connor Drake and Hunter Southerland to score.

Culinary Arts Dinner planned for March 6

† † †The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Culinary Arts Program will host its†last Dinner Night of the semester on Thursday, March 6. This event will be†held at the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Culinary Arts School in historic downtown Pittsburg and†is open to the public. The meal is first-come-first-served and no†reservations will be accepted. The cost is $10 per person. Seating is†limited.

Free GED orientations scheduled

The Adult Education Department at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area this spring. The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº goats are pulling their weight and performing one of their many uses on the Eagle Ranch. You might say that the goats at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº are great at providing ?natural land enhancement services?. The farm interns in the AGMG 2286 Class just completed the project of moving the goat fencing and shelter next to the Whatley Ag Complex this afternoon.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Eagles (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) softball team dropped†both games of†a double header against North Central Texas College on Wednesday. The losses broke a six-game winning streak for the Eagles.

Sophomore infielder Alizabeth Autrey scored the first run of the game after an error by North Central?s third baseman. Neither team scored again until the bottom of the fourth when Kelsey Moulder hit a solo home run for the Eagles.

Eagles Baseball pick up a win over the weekend

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) Eagles baseball team hosted a nine-game tournament this weekend with four teams from Texas, Kansas and Louisiana battling it out over three days. The highlight of the weekend for the Eagles was Sunday night when freshman pitcher Tim Winders led ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº to a convincing 11-3 victory against the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers jumped on the board first with one run in the second inning, but the Eagles took a commanding lead in the third, scoring seven runs.
