Last week, the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles baseball team faced Arkansas Baptist College in a four-game series. The Eagles started the series off with an 8-5 win over Arkansas, but failed to claim victory in the following games.

Northeast collected one run in the top of the first after Darien Simms scored on a sacrifice fly by Will Dawson. Arkansas pitcher Wesley Johnson allowed two runs in the second. Back-to-back walks and a hit by wild pitch scored Eagles? Chandler Dean and Jhosmel Rodriguez.

Home runs for the Eagles came in the third and the fourth.

This past weekend, the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles softball team traveled to Beaumont for the Cross-Over Tournament. The Eagles faced six teams in the tourney, but only walked away with one win.

Northeast played Coastal Bend for the first game of the tournament. Eagles?

After dropping two games to Ranger College last weekend, the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles baseball team returned home to face TCS Post Grad Wednesday. The Eagles dominated the game, clearing a six-run shortfall with a big 10-run inning. The team cushioned their lead and secured a 22-12 victory.

The latest on the construction project

? The Student Services building is officially open again. All of student services and the business office have moved into the newly-renovated space.

?†The Testing Center will move to its new space in the Student Services building soon. Testing will be closed March 2 for the move, but will reopen March 3 in the new location.

? Continuing Education will be open in their new location in the Student Services building beginning Friday, March 3.

Honors Northeast, the honors program at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ, is currently seeking applications for the 2017-2018 school year. The priority deadline is March 1 and students may apply online at ntcc.edu/honors or contact Dr.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles softball team traveled to Temple last weekend to participate in a five-game tournament. The Eagles faced San Jacinto, Temple, McLennan, Blinn and Galveston. The team fought hard, but were unable to come back home with a win.

The Lady Eagles faced three teams on Friday. In the first game versus San Jacinto, Northeast put up a good fight.

Brittany Baggett collected two hits and two RBI for the Eagles and helped put the team on the board with a double in the top of the seventh inning.

Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ, will present the play Thieves March 2-5 in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

The audience will join the cast for an intimate, on-stage performance of the 1974 Broadway play by Herb Gardner. The Thursday through Saturday shows will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles baseball team traveled to Ranger College this past weekend and found themselves on the losing side of a three-game series. The Eagles lost the first game 7-6 before coming back to win game two 8-2. Ranger took back the series in game three with a 7-5 win.

In game one, the Eagles tried to recover from a four-run deficit, but the late-game rally was unsuccessful.
