Sondra Fowler appointed to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees appointed a new member Tuesday night. Sondra Fowler of Daingerfield was tapped to replace John Bryan, who resigned from the board in September.

Fowler has 30 years of experience in communications with five major multinational corporations. She retired from Conoco in 2002 as head of global external communications at the time of the company's merger with Phillips. Fowler moved to Northeast Texas in 2003, where she served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Pilgrim's Pride Corporation.

The Hunts to perform at Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for†the Performing Arts at†ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº will host The Hunts in concert November 12 at 7:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Mrs. Helen Hampton.
Known for their harmony-laced take on alternative-folk, The Hunts are a Chesapeake, Virginia-based band of seven siblings who?ve been playing music together almost their entire lives.

Helen Hampton recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming performance of The Hunts at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation recently received a $500 scholarship from the Pleasant Sams, the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Good Sam Club of America. Daingerfield Country Club wins ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Golf Classic

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation held its annual Golf Classic October 24 at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. Twelve teams participated in the six-man scramble, raising more than $8,000 to support students participating in the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Work Scholarship Program.†Pilgrim's was Platinum sponsor for the event. Gold sponsors included Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative, Cypress Bank, Daingerfield Country Club, Guaranty Bank and Trust and Luminant.

East Texas Men in Harmony to perform at the Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº will host a vocal performance by the East Texas Men in Harmony Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. This is the first of three shows in a special Sounds of Northeast Texas series highlighting talented musicians from the area.

The East Texas Men in Harmony is approaching its tenth year as a performing chorus. During this time, they have become one of the top choruses in the five-state Southwestern District of the International Barbershop Harmony Society.
