Team Arise, Raw Iron Gyms give $1,000 for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Scholarship

Team Arise and Raw Iron Gyms recently teamed up to give $1,000 to the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation. † † † Beth Thompson loved ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. Her husband, with the help of family and friends, plans to keep her legacy alive at the institution through a scholarship in her memory. The Margaret Beth Reudelhuber Thompson Memorial Scholarship for Women in Accounting and Business was recently established with the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation.

Psi Beta plans suicide prevention event

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº chapter of the Psi Beta honors society will host a Suicide Prevention Conference and 5K Walk to Fight Suicide Saturday, April 23. The event will be held on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº campus and the conference will begin with two speakers at 5 p.m. in the†Whatley Foyer. The walk will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to participate in the event. The cost is $20 per person if pre-registered early by April 7 and $25 the day of the walk. T-shirts will be available to those who pre-registered.

Andrew Yox wins TSHA Leadership in Education Award

Dr. Andrew Yox, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº's Honors Director, recently reached a climactic moment of his †twenty-year career in Northeast Texas.

On March 4 in Irving, The Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) awarded Yox the Mary Jon and J.P. Bryan Leadership in Education Award, a citation that came with a $5,000 prize.† It is the top financial award granted each year by the TSHA, open to university and college educators in history throughout the state.
