ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ's Eagles Softball program is proud to announce that two standout student-athletes, Kyndal Yaross and Preslielynn Barraza, have been named to the Second Team All-Conference for NJCAA Region 14, recognizing their outstanding performances during the 2025 season.

#17 Kyndal Yaross, a sophomore, delivered a strong all-around season. She posted a .329 batting average, tallied 5 home runs and 21 RBIs, and demonstrated defensive consistency with a .933 fielding percentage.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles Softball team has concluded the academic year with a remarkable 3.43 cumulative team GPA—the highest in the history of the program. This outstanding achievement underscores the team’s unwavering commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Seven student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs for the year:

Vanessajane Bayne, a chemical and environmental engineering student from ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ, is one of 55 students selected as 2025 Udall Scholars and will receive a $7,000 scholarship. The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation selects recipients of this highly competitive scholarship on the basis of commitment to careers in the environment, leadership potential, record of public service, and academic achievement.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Adult Education Department recently held a graduation ceremony to celebrate 25 graduates who completed the requirements for the GED (General Equivalency Diploma). Twelve graduates were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society and the winner of the J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship was also announced.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Foundation recently received a $10,000 donation from Franklin M. and Linda. S. Harrison, of Pittsburg. The funds are being used to establish the Korey B. Harrison Memorial Scholarship in memory of their late grandson. Korey was formally trained in culinary arts and enjoyed a career working in restaurants around the country. In keeping with his passion, the scholarship will benefit students enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ.

     Big things are happening in Morris County! This spring, local students are making history and showing what’s possible with hard work and determination.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day. Offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, May 27th.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Marketing Department is pleased to announce the release of the college's latest promotional video. Many thanks to the faculty and students in Welding, Industrial Technology, and Medical Assisting for being part of the project. The video was created by Chad's Media in Sulphur Springs.

Skylar Hodson (pictured right) and Monserrat Rivero Sanchez are two of 22 Phi Theta Kappa members selected as 2025 Hites Scholars and will receive a $7,500 scholarship for baccalaureate studies.

The Hites Transfer Scholarship is awarded to Phi Theta Kappa members preparing to transfer to a bachelor’s degree-granting college or university. Winners were selected from nearly 2,800 applicants nationwide for their outstanding academic achievement and rigor, leadership accomplishments, and engagement in college and community activities.

Jennifer Sullivan is a wife and mother of two daughters, with a baby girl on the way. She started her college journey at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ and went on to earn a master’s degree in social work from Texas A&M University–Commerce. Today, she works as a Family Service Worker.
