CIS engages Chapel Hill Juniors, Seniors during STARR testing

Recent STARR testing for Freshmen and Sophomores caused Junior and Seniors at Chapel Hill to be displaced.鈥犫燢ristin French, Comunities in Schools coordinator at Chapel Hill Junior High and High School planned three days of activities for Juniors and Seniors.

The theme of the activities for juniors was getting ready for senior year. Mrs. Cristy Nolen, Family and Consumer Science teacher said, "Senior Camp" and that name stuck!鈥犫燱e wanted to get LOTS of work done, but have fun at the same time.

Wilson receives J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship

Bryan Wilson (center)鈥爋f Mount Vernon, was recently鈥爌resented with the J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship during the 2013 GED graduation ceremony.鈥This $500 award is given by the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club in memory of Jackson, who was a long time adult educator in Titus County.鈥燤aking the presentation is Amy Hinton (right), President of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club and Amy House (left), GED Instructor.

The Titus County Literacy Advisory Council recently honored 12 deserving鈥燝eneral Equivalency Diploma (GED) students from Northeast Texas Community鈥燙ollege by inducting them into the National Adult Education Honor Society鈥(NAEHS).鈥燭hose inducted were: (from left)鈥燗ndrew Jackson, Bryan Wilson, Donna Barton, Dagoberto Acosta, Clara Roberts, Gary Gaskin, Whitney Jarosh, Brandon McNeil, Olga Alvarez, Isai Adame, Jessica Simpson, and Justin McCaskill.

The 乱色无码人妻视频影院 Medical Assistant program recently announced that 100% of its second year students passed the National Certification Exam offered through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). These students, who graduated in May, are now eligible to be employed as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) anywhere in the United States.

乱色无码人妻视频影院 held its spring 2013 commencement at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 11. Due to the record number of graduates, 乱色无码人妻视频影院 held two separate ceremonies for the first time. Candidates for Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees were honored with commencement at 9 a.m. Graduation for candidates of Associate of Applied Science degrees and Certificates of Competencies graduated at 11 a.m. A total of鈥178 students were awarded associate degrees and 115 earned certificates of competency in their chosen fields.

乱色无码人妻视频影院 recently held the 2013 McGraw-Hill Poster Contest at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. This event allows local high school and college students to present original research projects to a panel of judges.

Enactus receives Outstanding Student Organization Award

乱色无码人妻视频影院 recently presented Enactus (formerly SIFE) with the Outstanding Student Organization Award for the 2012-2013 school year. This award is given to a registered student organization that displays outstanding effort through contributions to the college and the community and the development of its members. The Enactus team received $200 to benefit their organization and a plaque.
