Spring Break for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is March 12-16. We hope you have a great time, but please be safe. The following is a message from the US State Department about travel safety.†

Spring Break is fast approaching and many students are preparing to travel abroad for a well-deserved vacation. Smart trip-planning involves more than getting a new travel guide and backpack.

The Adult Education Department at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area. All students must in enroll in an orientation session before beginning classes. See schedule/contact information below:

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Eagles softball team used strong hitting and a never-say-die attitude to earn a six-game winning streak at the Murray State Softball Festival over the weekend. The Eagles won their first six games at the tournament before dropping the final contest to finish the weekend 6-1.

The Eagles entered the weekend tournament in Tishomingo, OK with a 5-9 record but came away from the tourney with a season record of 11-10 after coming from behind in four of their six wins.

The Eagle hitters crushed the ball all weekend as the team scored 53 runs while batting .341 with 43 RBI.

Boy meets girl. Girl writes boy. Girl and Boy correspond throughout their lives. That more or less sums up the romantic comedy,†Love Letters, by A. R. Gurney, to be presented by Theatre Northeast on March 2-4 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus.

Friday and Saturday (March 2 and 3) shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday, March 3 performance will be at 2:05 p.m.†Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 age 17 and under and $3 for senior citizens, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ faculty and staff.

Mt. Pleasant High School and ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ recently announced a new dual credit Industrial Technology Program for high school juniors and seniors.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Agriculture program recently hosted 187 sixth-grade students from Pittsburg ISD. The students spent the morning touring the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Complex and the rest of the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus. The Adult Education department at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ recently announced that ESL (English as Second Language) student Maria De La Luz Dominguez (pictured) of Mount Pleasant has received the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education (TALAE) ESL Student Persistence Award. This statewide honor is awarded to students who exhibit personal accountability and commitment to pursuing their education while maintaining their family and civic responsibilities. A award of $500 was given during the TALAE Awards Dinner in San Antonio earlier this month.
