SGA gives report at April board meeting

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Student Government Association (SGA) gave a report to the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees on Tuesday night. SGA President John Herron addressed the board regarding their recent trip to the state SGA convention in Austin. The group revealed plans to support The Wounded Warrior project, promote graduation at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº and to assist fellow students with voter registration.

Theatre Northeast to perform 12 Angry Jurors

Theatre Northeast will present the tense courtroom drama†Twelve Angry Jurors †in the Studio Theatre of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. The show will run†April 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. and April 29 at 2:05 p.m.

The play by Reginald Rose, originally a 1954 CBS STUDIO ONE television drama, and subsequently an academy award nominated film starring Henry Fonda and Lee J.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Honors Program will host the 4th annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest on Friday, April 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the Whatley Center foyer. The event is funded by McGraw-Hill companies.


Full-time students at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº, as well as seniors from area high schools, are welcome to compete.

Eagles soccer to hold open tryout

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Eagles soccer program will hold open tryouts for both the men?s and women?s teams on Saturday, April 28. Women?s tryouts are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and men?s tryouts are from 1-3 p.m. on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº soccer field. Campus tours will follow. The faculty of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº will host the 20th Annual Student Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The purpose of this banquet is to recognize student achievement by honoring outstanding students and alumni.


Students are nominated for awards by faculty members in four categories. The President's Academic Excellence Award is given to students who excel academically.
