The Adult Education Department at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes in Mount Pleasant.†Both day and evening classes are available.†Students interested in attending classes must enroll in a 12-hour orientation. Orientation and classes will be held at the Adult Education Center located in Room 126 of the Mount Pleasant ISD Administration Building at 105 N. Riddle. †The day orientation will be September 4-6 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and classes begin September 10.

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ held its summer 2012 commencement ceremony at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, Aug. 10. During the ceremony, 82 students were awarded associate degrees and 66 earned certificates of competency in their chosen fields. Cory Nesbitt, a 2003 graduate of ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ who is now a mechanical engineer for NASA, gave the commencement address. Nesbitt is a native of Mount Pleasant and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. Pictured above, Carlos Mendez, of Mount Pleasant, gives the student response as his classmates look on.

The Adult Education Department at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area. All students must in enroll in an orientation session before beginning classes.

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ announced Tuesday that the fall semester has been pushed back to begin on Monday, August 27. The schedule originally stated that classes begin on August 20.

The decision to move the date back one week was made in order to ensure consistency with the start dates of local school districts and other colleges.

The due date for fall payments has also been pushed back one week to August 17. Please make arrangements to take care of your accounts by this date to avoid being dropped from classes.
