ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students, faculty, and staff came together on Wednesday, Oct. 29 to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the annual Paint the SUB Pink event in the Student Union Building.
Quilts by local quilters will hang in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ art department. For the ninth year, quilters will bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit will run from Wednesday, Nov. 5th through Monday, Nov. 24th. A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Theatre Department will bring a festive dose of laughter and nostalgia to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts with its upcoming production of A 1940s Christmas Carol. The show, written and directed by Dr. Page Petrucka, Professor of Theatre, runs November 13–15 at 7 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m.
Honors Northeast, the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Honors Program, is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2025-2026 school year. This includes seven Presidential Scholars and fifteen Honors Scholars.
Araceli Landaverde and Sarah Hamlin were among sixteen winners of the prestigious Walter B. Cooper Scholarships. The Walter B. Cooper scholarship winners were announced at the end of the Phi Theta Kappa Texas Leadership Conference. Winners have demonstrated themselves to be well-rounded individuals with active participation in areas reflecting the four hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa: scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.

Eight members of Alpha Mu Chi, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, attended the 2025 Texas Leadership Conference held on the campus of Temple College. The conference, held in the recently completed Main Building, had 384 attendees from throughout the Texas Region of Phi Theta Kappa. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ’s José Fuentes, the District III Vice President, helped plan the conference, writing session scripts and confirming presenters.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Board of Trustees met for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 21st. All seven trustees were present.
