��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ

The Adult Education Department at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration. While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Continuing Education department has a variety of fun learning opportunities lined up for the fall semester. If you are interested in signing up, please complete the registration forms (below) or call 903-434-8134 or e-mail continuinged@ntcc.edu.

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will host its August 2023 commencement ceremony tonight on Friday, Aug. 11 in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so only guests who have tickets will be admitted into the auditorium. Graduation will be streamed live on  and  for those who are unable to attend in person. 

It is hard to believe, but we are just three weeks away from the start of the Fall 2023 semester. Classes start Monday, Aug. 28th. There is still time to sign up, but you need to act now!

Most current students should be able to register online in the . New students should visit  to get started and schedule to see an advisor ASAP.

Members of Honors Northeast and the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Webb Society are in the midst of an intense film week that has taken them, in 100-degree weather, from Lake Bob Sandlin to Lake Nacogdoches.  They are working on their 12th feature-length film on Texas history legends.  This year’s script is about the traveling preachers of early Texas.

Christi Denney (left) recently presented Nita May, Director of Development with the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Foundation, with $2,000 to support the Nita DeWoody Memorial Scholarship fund. Multiple donations were received to contribute to the scholarship in memory of JW Hooper, father of Denney and DeWoody, who passed away in 2023.

“Sadly, we lost our father as well this year. The family is very appreciative of those who gave memorial gifts to honor our dad and keep Nita’s scholarship fund going,” Denney said.

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is currently enrolling for its upcoming Professional Driving Academy (CDL training). New classes begin monthly. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in training for a lucrative new career in just one month.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Work4College Program celebrated the end of summer with its annual appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 2. Work4College donors, supervisors, students and their families attended the event in the Student Union Building. This is the 9th year of the program and more than 90 students participated.
