Team Arise, Raw Iron Gyms give $1,000 for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Scholarship

Team Arise and Raw Iron Gyms recently teamed up to give $1,000 to the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Foundation. Pictured making the donation to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Vice President for Advancement (center) is Michael Brown (left), Founder of the non-profit organization Team Arise, and Brad Duncan (right), owner of Raw Iron Gym and Raw Iron Gym 2. The funds will provide a scholarship to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students who are veterans or children of veterans. Scholarship fund established, service planned in memory of Beth Thompson

† † † Beth Thompson loved ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ. Her husband, with the help of family and friends, plans to keep her legacy alive at the institution through a scholarship in her memory. The Margaret Beth Reudelhuber Thompson Memorial Scholarship for Women in Accounting and Business was recently established with the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Foundation.

Psi Beta plans suicide prevention event

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ chapter of the Psi Beta honors society will host a Suicide Prevention Conference and 5K Walk to Fight Suicide Saturday, April 23. The event will be held on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus and the conference will begin with two speakers at 5 p.m. in the†Whatley Foyer. The walk will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to participate in the event. The cost is $20 per person if pre-registered early by April 7 and $25 the day of the walk. T-shirts will be available to those who pre-registered.

Andrew Yox wins TSHA Leadership in Education Award

Dr. Andrew Yox, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ's Honors Director, recently reached a climactic moment of his †twenty-year career in Northeast Texas.

On March 4 in Irving, The Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) awarded Yox the Mary Jon and J.P. Bryan Leadership in Education Award, a citation that came with a $5,000 prize.† It is the top financial award granted each year by the TSHA, open to university and college educators in history throughout the state.
