ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 22 to assist students with finalizing registration for the Fall 2015 semester. Students who have already begun the registration process will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, make payments and receive help with financial aid.
Hanson-Sewell Center offers fall classes
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg would like to remind residents of Camp County and surrounding areas that a full slate of courses will be offered at the center this fall.
The majority of classes offered at the Hanson-Sewell Center are held in the evening in order to allow working adults a chance to take courses that fit their busy schedules.

The Adult Education Department at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ) will offer free General Education Development (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations beginning this month. The eighth annual Northeast Texas Poetry Contest and Reading is again open to the public.†Amateur, accomplished or aspiring poets of any age are welcome to submit their best poem on the topic of life in Northeast Texas.†Poets are encouraged to accent or enliven the sense of the surroundings, the people, the culture or the history of our region.†The deadline date for submission is August 28 at noon. This year?s recipient, Cruz Gallegos (pictured center), was the 2015 Valedictorian at Daingerfield High School. Due to increased demand, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will add an additional date for new students to attend myEagle Orientation. Any first-time student who has not yet attended orientation and plans to take classes at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ this fall should make plans to sign up for this final session on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 to Whatley Campaign
The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently gave $1,000 to support the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Campaign for the Whatley. Their gift will sponsor a theatre seat in honor of their organization and one in memory of Verner Cornelius.
