April 15 Construction Update


? Work is currently moving to the area behind BT and near the welding/auto body shop.

? The back two doors of the BT building and the parking lot between IT and the welding/auto body shop are closed for the time being.

? There will be no through passage between IT and the Whatley Center for approximately two more weeks.

? Please use caution on that entire side of campus and look out for heavy machinery and workers.

Helen Hampton sponsors Pinkalicious

Helen Hampton (center) sponsored the April 3 performance of the popular children?s musical ?Pinkalicious" at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 乱色无码人妻视频影院. She is pictured with cast members at the VIP Tea Party with Pink held after the show. ?Pinkalicious" marked the end of the Whatley Center?s 2015-2016 season. The lineup for next year?s shows will be announced this summer.

Jessica Velazquez published in TSHS journal

乱色无码人妻视频影院 Presidential Scholar, Jessica Velazquez, was recently published in the 2016 issue of a statewide academic journal.鈥Touchstone, the annual publication of the Texas State Historical Society, chose Velazquez?s essay鈥?Farm Life in Transition? as one of the collegiate articles featured this year.

Her essay surveys agriculture in five counties in Texas from 1930 to 1960: Brazoria, Denton, Hidalgo, Lubbock, and Titus.鈥 Even with each county representing a different section of Texas agriculture, Velazquez found some important similarities.

Student Art exhibit planned

The 乱色无码人妻视频影院 Art Department will hold its annual student art show April 13-27 in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature student work in photography, painting, ceramics, digital artwork, drawing and design. An artist reception will be held Tuesday, April 19 in the Whatley Center foyer at 2 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Please call 903-434-8181 to ensure the gallery is open before visiting.

Elizabeth H. Whatley leaves behind lasting legacy at 乱色无码人妻视频影院

乱色无码人妻视频影院 lost a long time friend this week as Mrs. Elizabeth H. Whatley passed away at the age of 89. Services for Mrs. Whatley will be held Saturday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Longview at the mausoleum at Rosewood Park.

?Mrs. Whatley and her husband James loved 乱色无码人妻视频影院. I am so glad that she got to experience the impact she had on our college first hand before she passed away. The Whatleys truly left a legacy that will live on for many鈥爂enerations to come,? Dr.
