Do you know someone who is interested in learning English or completing their GED (General Education Development)? The Adult Education Program at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ offers free GED and ESL (English as a Second Language) classes at a variety of convenient locations. Registration for all locations will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street on the following dates: August 9, 11, 15 and 17.

Both daytime and evening classes are available.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ and Honors Northeast†recently†announced a call for original poems to enter the ninth†annual Northeast Texas Poetry Contest. The judges will be looking for poems that can accent or enliven our sense of the surroundings, people, the culture, and/or the history of Northeast Texas. Adult winners will take home $200 for first place and $50 for second place. Full-time student winners will receive $400 for first place, $300 for second, $200 for third, and $100 for fourth. All ages are welcome to enter the contest. Any genre of poem, and at any length, can compete.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. We will resume regular business hours Tuesday, July 5. In case of an emergency on campus during a closure, please call security at 903-434-8127.
