Velma Lee Buck Blount Williams Scholarship established at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ

Nancy Blount recently gave $500 to establish the Velma Lee Buck Blount Williams Memorial Scholarship at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ. The gift was given by Nancy in memory of her late mother, Velma (pictured), a longtime Pittsburg resident. The scholarship will benefit an ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ student from Camp or Wood counties. Cassidy Watkins named Texas Heritage National Bank Scholar

For the second year in a row, Texas Heritage National Bank has sponsored a full scholarship for a ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Presidential Scholar. Cassidy Watkins, of Daingerfield, has been named the 2017-2018 Texas Heritage National Bank Scholar.

The scholarship covers tuition, fees and books for Watkins? sophomore year at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ.

?This kind of privately funded, full academic scholarship gives dynamic students like Watkins time advantages, and a route to leverage greater awards,? Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director, said.
