The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Eagles Baseball team picked up its first loss of the Region 14 tournament Tuesday night after falling 9-3 to San Jacinto College. The Eagles will play San Jacinto again at 1 p.m. Wednesday to determine which team is headed to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Both teams got on the board early, with two runs apiece in the first inning. ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ's runs came from back-to-back homers by Taylor Barber and Kyle Moos.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Eagles Baseball team secured their spot in the finals of the NJCAA Region 14 Tournament Monday night as they beat San Jacinto College 7-6. The Eagles will face off at 5 p.m. against the winner of this afternoon?s matchup between San Jacinto and Alvin.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Eagles Baseball team is one step closer to the NJCAA World Series as they beat Galveston College 9-5 Sunday in the Region 14 Tournament. The win came on the heels of an 8-6 win against Blinn College on Saturday.

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ got things moving in the first inning against Galveston, when†Manny Garcia†homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Jordan Martinez†pitched†the Eagles†to victory.

The Pittsburg 20^th Century Club recently gave $500 to support the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts and name a seat in the auditorium. Alpha Mu Chi, the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter of ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ, recently held its spring induction ceremony at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Speakers for the evening included Dr. Ron Clinton, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ President, and Chesney Davis, Alpha Mu Chi member and the outgoing Texas Regional District III Vice-President for Phi Theta Kappa.

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of community college students and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders.

And each spring for the last decade, scores of animated scholarly conversations at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ?s McGraw Hill Poster contest have furnished novel learning experiences.† ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ students have learned by teaching and the friends of the college who serve as judges, by asking.

These contests have also, thanks to the generosity of McGraw Hill Education, and this year, to a Whatley Enhancement Grant through Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery of Scroggins, produced student awards.

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to support the Work Scholarship Program at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ. The gift, which is in addition to their annual scholarship, will be matched by two grants for a total impact of $1,500. Dr. Jon McCullough, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Executive Vice President for Advancement (center) and Nita May, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Director of Development (right) accepted the gift on behalf of the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Foundation.
