The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Wesley Fellowship has resumed their weekly lunches. Volunteers from the Wesley Fellowship provide free lunch and fellowship for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students at the Wesley Student Center (north of the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus off FM 1735) on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to join Rev. Allyson Penny and the Wesley crew for a new season of joy! Follow them on for the latest updates on events and activities at the Wesley Student Center. 

We hope this semester has been off to a great start!

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Women’s and Men’s Soccer teams kicked off the 2022 season at home against the LSU-Eunice Bengals. LSU-E Women would mount a comeback and defeat the Eagles 3-2 and the men’s squad for the Bengals won 3-1 on Wednesday.

Do you have an interest in traveling abroad? ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ recently announced a new travel study course to Mexico City. During the May 2023 minimester, Carmen Shurtleff, Instructor of Social Work/Sociology, will lead a group of students on the trip of a lifetime to explore the rich culture and history to be found in Mexico City.

It is critical that the campus community is quickly informed in the event of an emergency at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ. As we kick off a new school year, it is important that everyone is made aware of what to do and how to make sure they receive emergency alerts. We will be conducting a test of our alert system on Tuesday, Sept. 13th at 9:45 a.m.

Please read the information below to make sure you are signed up to receive alerts and informed about what to do in an emergency situation.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5 in observation of the Labor Day holiday. Offices will return to normal hours and classes will resume as usual on Tuesday, Sept. 6. We hope everyone has a fun and safe long weekend!

Have you always wanted to learn a new language? Now is the time to get started! The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Continuing Education department is planning two language courses this fall. 

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will host a job fair on Tuesday, September 20th from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building (SUB). The event is open to the public in addition to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students. Recruiters from local business and industry will be in attendance. The following have confirmed that they will be represented (more will likely be added): 

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Career and Transfer team will host Annie Garcia, UT Tyler Admissions Coordinator, on Wednesday, Sept. 14 in the SUB from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is to help inform ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students about what degrees UT Tyler offers and what requirements are needed for each degree. Mrs. Garcia will waive application fees ($60) for students who apply during her visit.
