ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will host its August 2022 commencement ceremony on Friday, Aug. 12 in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so only guests who have tickets will be admitted into the auditorium. Graduation will be streamed live on and for those who are unable to attend in person.
The Adult Education Department at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration. While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Continuing Education Department hosted 101 children for the 2022 Kids Discovery College this summer. The two-week camp offered a variety of fun and educational classes for kids age 8-16 that ranged from theatre to drone piloting.
ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ held its annual Work4College Scholarship lunch on Wednesday, Aug. 3 on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus. The event, which brought together more than 200 students, supervisors and donors, was the culmination of the summer scholarship program. It was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Perryman, who are longtime supporters of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ.

The two top winners of the 2022 McGraw Hill Poster Contest at the Whatley Foyer in May received a free trip, ticket and lunch, 28 July, to the Texas Shakespeare Festival in Kilgore, Texas. Together with Honors Director Dr. Andrew Yox, Skylar Fondren, and Victor Diaz saw Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew in an afternoon production.
