Softball sweeps National Park College

Wet field conditions pushed the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº matchup with National Park College to Sunday, February 26th, and the Eagles used that extra day to prepare and came away with a sweep. Game one saw ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº defeat the Nighthawks 6-0 and win a back and forth contest in game two 11-10.

Baseball hosts Paris Junior College

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Baseball hosted Paris Junior College for the first home conference games of the 2023 season and each team came away with a win in the series. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº won game one 7-2 before falling to Paris in game two 8-3.

Baseball splits with Tyler Junior College

February 22nd the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Eagles head down to Tyler, Texas to open of Conference play for the 2023 season with the TJC Apaches. TJC would take game one, but it took extra innings to do so, winning 3-2 in eleven innings. Game two would go the Eagles way with a 9-2 win over the Apaches.

Foundation receives $197,778 from matching grant

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation recently received a check for $197,778 in Title V matching funds from the U.S. Department of Education. Thanks to a unique provision of the federal grant, all donations to the Foundation’s endowment are matched 100 percent by Title V funds.

Continuing Education to offer pickleball class

Have you heard about Pickleball and want to learn how to play? Come join the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Continuing Education Department for a class on this up-and-coming sport that is sweeping the country. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is an easy game for beginners to learn, so if you are looking for a fun, social and friendly game, Pickleball is for you!

Did you know that thousands of patients with blood cancers could be cured with a blood stem cell or marrow donation from a genetically matched donor? The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Nursing program wants to help increase the odds of these patients finding a match by hosting a National Marrow Donor Program "Be The Match" event on Wednesday, March 8th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Anyone who is between the ages of 18 and 40 who is in good health and willing to donate to anyone in need is encouraged to stop by to participate.

Baseball takes on Howard College

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº hosted the Howard College Hawks February 18-19 in a three-game series. Howard College won games one and two, 6-5 and 8-0, but ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº bounced back in game three to win 8-4.

PTA program earns 10-year reaccreditation

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program recently announced that it has been awarded the maximum 10-year reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Continued accreditation means that the program meets or exceeds all requirements and that students who graduate from the program are eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Examination and practice as licensed PTAs.
