The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year. Applications are available online at or can be picked up from Lori Hunter?s office in the Student Services Center (former Administration Building). The priority deadline for scholarships is March 19, 2018.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº scholarships are competitive and vary in amounts.

Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund winners announced

Twelve ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº employees received a total of $15,473.86 in Whatley Employee Enhancement Grants for 2018. The Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund was established by James & Elizabeth Whatley specifically for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº employees to fund special projects and enhance educational opportunities that might fall outside the regular budget.

Thomas and April Bliss establish ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº scholarships

Thomas and April Bliss recently presented the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation with $2,000 to establish two scholarships. The Sharon Bliss Memorial scholarship is in memory of Thomas? mother,†who had a long career as a respiratory therapist.†This scholarship†will benefit a student studying health sciences at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. The Bradyn Dawn Loy Memorial Scholarship†was established†in memory of the Mount Vernon High School student and friend of the Bliss family who passed away last year.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Golf Classic ends in a tie

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Golf Classic raised more than $7,000 for the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation this year.† The tournament, held at the Daingerfield Country Club, consisted of eight six-person teams.† There was a two-way tie for first place between the Daingerfield Country Club Team and the team from Guaranty Bank and Trust. The tie breaker was settled on a score card play-off that was won by Daingerfield Country Club.
