Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Work Scholarship Program

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to support the Work Scholarship Program at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. The gift, which is in addition to their annual scholarship, will be matched by two grants for a total impact of $1,500. Dr. Jon McCullough, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Executive Vice President for Advancement (center) and Nita May, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Director of Development (right) accepted the gift on behalf of the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation raises $15,000 for East Texas Giving Day

Many thanks to everyone who supported the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation on East Texas Giving Day on April 24. Thanks to the generosity of friends and ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº employees, more than 80 donations were received for a total of $14,647.19 during the event. Another generous donor gave after the deadline to make an even $15,000 raised. This more than doubled the amount raised in 2017. These funds will go a long way to providing scholarships and special projects for student organizations and additional donations continue to pour in.

Joyce Ellison Currey Memorial nursing scholarship established at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº

The Preston Currey Family, of Hughes Springs, recently gave $10,000 to establish the Joyce Ellison Currey Memorial Scholarship at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. The perpetual scholarship will be used to provide financial assistance to students majoring in nursing at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. Joyce Ellison Currey was a nurse at Titus Regional Medical Center for decades and spent her career lovingly caring for patients and mentoring the next generation of nurses.

Christi Denney honors memory of sister, Nita DeWoody, with ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº scholarship

Nothing prepared Christi Denney for the loss of her beloved sister, Nita DeWoody, in October 2016. However, In the midst of her grief, Denney became determined to do something good to carry on her sister?s memory. With that goal in mind, she organized a charity 5K race that was held in October 2017 in Pittsburg.
