You may have seen some buzz on social media lately about the Continuing Education Department's American Sign Language (ASL) and Conversational Spanish classes being held in Mount Pleasant. ASL is being taught at Jo's Downtown on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Conversational Spanish is at Super Bueno on Monday and Wednesday. Those who feel comfortable at the intermediate level can still join in on either series! Click below for quick, easy registration. 

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will host its annual transfer fair on Thursday, Sept. 28th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building. The event will bring representatives from more than 25 universities to campus to meet with prospective transfer students. 

"This is a great opportunity for ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ students to meet with lots of universities at one time. Anyone who is planning to continue their education beyond ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ should definitely make an effort to attend," Sheila Eddy, Associate Director of Academic Advising, said. 

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Five new students recently graduated from the program. Have you been bitten by the travel bug? ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is planning an exciting travel study trip to Boston next year from May 18-22. This is a great opportunity to explore one of the nation's most historic, iconic cities while earning college credit. An informational session is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 26th at 12:30 p.m. in Humanities 107. Anyone who has an interest in the trip is encouraged to attend.

Yoana Amador and Madellynn Smith were among two of 213 Phi Theta Kappa members named a 2023 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will each receive a $1000 scholarship. Vinson Sellars was selected as one of twenty-five 2023 Coca-Cola Military Leaders of Promise Scholars and will also receive a $1000 scholarship. Applicants are selected based on outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential, competing against nearly 1100 applicants.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Art Department hosted an artist reception with Frank Herbert on Wednesday in the Whatley Center foyer. Herbert's art will remain on display in the Whatley gallery through Thursday, September 21st. The exhibit is free to view during regular college business hours.
