Carroll Shelby Foundation gives $25k for automotive scholarships

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation recently received a $25,000 gift from the Carroll Shelby Foundation. Aaron Shelby (left), is pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Executive Vice President for Advancement. The funds will be used to provide scholarships for students enrolled in ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s Carroll Shelby Automotive Program.

TAFE students compete at state competition

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) students (above from left): Monse Rivero, Neida Pérez and Anahí Valente represented ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº at the state TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) competition in Austin. Neida and Anahi (pictured below) qualified to compete at the National competition in Orlando June 29-July 2. We wish them luck as they represent their college this summer!

Baseball spring break action

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Baseball as busy during spring break with six games over eight days. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº opened spring break up with a Saturday conference two game set with Bossier Parrish Community College, losing 7-1 and 8-0.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº would bounce back on Monday, March 13th when they traveled to Centenary College and picked up a 12-4 road non-conference win.

BSM hosts worship night with Curtis Grimes on March 31st

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Baptist Student Ministry and Ten Finger Ministry are hosting a night of music and worship featuring Curtis Grimes on March 31st at Moody Ranch (3491 FM 1000, Mt. Pleasant). Gates open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. The family-friendly event is open to all ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº students, employees and families and there is no cost to attend.

Description of Job Duties:

  • Responsibilities include teaching ARTS1301 online during Summer I and Summer II.
  • Work with instructional technology to maintain online courses, and maintaining communication with students.
  • Experience with Blackboard is preferred.

Brandon Pettey places at A&M research symposium

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Adjunct Instructor of Developmental English Brandon Pettey recently won second place at the Texas A&M University System Pathways Student Research Symposium in Galveston, Texas. The symposium brings students together from all the A&M University campuses to present research projects and compete in their various disciplines at the undergraduate, master’s, or PhD level. Pettey competed in the master’s Humanities category and presented a paper on the relationship between time and trauma as it is represented in two short stories.
