Progressive Women's Organization gives $1,000 to Whatley Campaign

The Progressive Women's Organization of Mount Pleasant recently gave $1,000 to support the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Campaign for the Whatley. Their gift will sponsor a theatre seat in honor of their organization and one in memory of Verner Cornelius. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº board approves bond issuance, hires construction manager

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees approved the issuance of limited tax bonds not to exceed $10 million at a special meeting July 14. This will allow ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº to begin work on the campus renewal plan that voters approved in May.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº signs partnership with Texas A&M-Texarkana

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº and Texas A&M University-Texarkana officials signed a dual admissions agreement today at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº, formalizing a partnership benefitting students who wish to attain baccalaureate degrees. Officials also signed a financial aid consortium allowing ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº and A&M-Texarkana students to be concurrently enrolled without disruption to their financial aid award.

Texas Pioneer Foundation supports ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Work Scholarship Program

The Texas Pioneer Foundation recently awarded a $40,000 grant to support the Work Scholarship Program at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Softball third in the nation for academics

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced that the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Eagles Softball team ranked third in the nation for team grade point average. The team held a 3.52 GPA for the 2014-2015 school year.


Head softball coach, Jessica Keith, said that academics are always a priority for her team.

Cinco de Mayo on the Square raises $10,000 for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº scholarships

ALAS (Amigos Latinos Al Servicio) of Mount Pleasant recently presented a check for $10,000 to the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation. The funds were used to create a perpetual $500 scholarship to be awarded to a first generation college student attending ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº.


The money for the scholarship was raised at the first annual ALAS Cinco de Mayo on the Square event that was held May 2 downtown Mount Pleasant.
