For the 10th straight year, Doctors Jim and Paula Archer hosted the annual Fall Roundup for Honors Northeast. Honors students, professors, and administrators of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ†gathered at the Archer?s Lone Star Cattle Company Ranch September 10 for the event. Dr. Andrew Yox, Honors Director (pictured right) presented the couple with a plaque commemorating some of the scenes of their interactions with students.

Dr. Jim Archer is a Professor Emeritus at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ, having served as chemistry professor for 25 years.

Planned activities include Archery, Shotgunning, Blacksmithing, Rifle, Handgun, Dutch Oven Cooking, Several Make it-Take it Crafts, Fly Fishing, and Much, Much More!!! Pick your own vegetables and herbs from the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ garden and use them to prepare a delicious meal from the menu prepared by Rene McCracken, Director of Agriculture at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ, who is also a wonderful cook in her own right!

September 23, 2016 Region VIII is teaming up with ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ to bring Louann Sewell Waters to lead this wonderful workshop. Come join us to see what's cooking! The workshop is located at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Comples across from the main ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ cmapus entrance.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is hosting an evening Police Academy (Basic Peace Officer Training) beginning October 3 at the Elementary School building in New Boston. The training program is 34 weeks and meets from 5:30-10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every second and fourth Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost is $1,556 plus books and uniforms. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ offers affordable payment plans and this program qualifies for limited grant assistance for eligible students.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Honors Program is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2016-2017 school year. This includes†10†Presidential Scholars and†15†Honors Scholars.

Honors Northeast†was founded in the spring of 2007. Geared to attract top high school graduates and college students, the program has prospered thanks to a network of loyal supporters both in and out of the college. Each year, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ honors students have attended and presented research at the Great Plains Honors Council and the National Collegiate Honors Council.
