Madison Blood Wins the 2018 Chitsey Award

Madison Lee Blood was recently named the winner of the 2018 Chitsey Award, granted each year to the student of Honors Northeast who most exceeded expectations.† Blood received a $200 check and certificate.† The former Big Sandy Valedictorian impressed all of her professors in her first semester at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº as fastidious, hard-working, and astute.† Her work on the emancipation of horses from war-pawns and draft slaves, to ?Black Beauty?

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board approves new degrees at February meeting

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº students will soon have two new degree options as the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees approved associate of applied science degrees in Health Studies and Healthcare Management at its regular meeting Tuesday evening.

These new degree tracks combine a variety of courses already offered at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº.

Whatley Center to host Mount Pleasant Art Society Show

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Art Department will host the Mount Pleasant Art Society Annual Membership Show March 10-30 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The competitive show features artwork from a variety of local artists. A reception will be held Saturday, March 10 from 2:00-3:30 p.m., where the winners will be announced. The gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Please call 903-434-8181 to ensure that the gallery is open before you come to visit.

Their gift will be matched by a grant for a total impact of $1,000. The 5th Annual Engineering Roundtable at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº was held on Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Whatley Center Foyer on campus.† Since 2014, this event has become an annual opportunity for both students who are currently enrolled in the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº engineering program and students from area high schools who are interested in the field of engineering.
