The Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC) recently presented ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº with a check for $25,000. This is a repeated initiative between MPEDC and ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. The funds, like before, are being used to provide scholarships to assist residents of Mount Pleasant and Titus County with tuition for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s Professional Driving Academy.
ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº hosted its annual college fair on Thursday, Oct. 20th in the Student Union Building. The event brought representatives from more than 20 universities to campus to meet with prospective transfer students.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Rodeo team made the long trip down to Uvalde, Texas for the Southwest Texas Junior College Rodeo October 6-8th. This was the 60th Annual Rodeo put on by the SWTJC Rodeo team, which also had a special tribute to the victims of the tragic Uvalde School shooting this past spring.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Continuing Education and Corporate Training department is pleased to announce a training partnership with Advanced Dental Assistant School in Naples. Their 15-week program prepares students for a career as a Professional Expanded Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Students who enroll through the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº partnership may be eligible for $1,000 in financial aid.
Honors Northeast, the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Honors Program, is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2022-2023 school year. This includes seven Presidential Scholars and 18 Honors Scholars.
Beginning Fall 2020 due to recent strategies to include ag classes as science options in core, developing a new method of delivering dual credit courses in our cooperating ISD’s and improving and expanding our on-line offerings- as COVID hit, the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Agriculture department doubled enrollment. Following this substantial increase, every semester showed double digit growth!
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Vocational Nursing (VN) program recently learned that 100% of its graduates from August 2022 passed their NCLEX-PN examinations. This marks the second year in a row that the VN program has had a 100% pass rate.
