On January 30, the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Continuing Education and Corporate Training group partnered with the Boy Scouts of America-Circle Ten Council to host their annual Merit Badge University here on campus.

Both Dorali Lopez Hernandez and Hilda Rodriguez have had their challenges this past year.  Both of their families have faced serious illnesses, and the death of a loved one. Both students elected to enter vigorous dual-programs at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ last fall in Honors and Pre-Nursing.  Both faced daunting challenges in research—Hernandez, in attempting to write a fifteen-page history of nursing in modern Texas, and Rodriguez, in writing an essay equally as long on modern Mexican immigration. 

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Softball team made the trip to Grayson College in Denison, Texas on Wednesday for the inaugural games under new Head Coach Joshua Freeman. The Eagles dropped game one 11-3 and game two by a score of 13-2.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Foundation recently received a check for $30,000 from Barry Smith of Pennsylvania. The funds benefit ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ’s Carroll Shelby Automotive Progam and will go toward an upcoming Shelby restoration project.

For their performance in challenging honors courses at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ in relation to their peers, two Presidential Scholars will win $100 checks.  ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ’s premiere James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar, Jalyn English, received the highest GPA in the double-course fall Honors seminar known as “HuMusic,” taught by Drs. Daniel, and Fulgham.   Aaliyah Avellaneda won her award as the honors freshman, ranking number one in the “BioTex” Honors Seminar this past spring, a combination of Biology and Texas History, taught by professors Ward and Yox. 

Wednesday, Jan. 20 will be the last day for free COVID-19 testing on the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ campus. Due to anticipated inclement weather, testing will be moved inside to the lobby of the Whatley Center.  Testing hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the service is open to the public. 

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Agriculture and Continuing Education Departments are please to announce an upcoming Spring Break "Life on the Farm" Camp with Rene McCracken (��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Ag Director).
