It is officially summer at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ and the campus is buzzing with activity. For the past few weeks we have highlighted some of the special programs taking place at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ this summer. This week’s Summer Spotlight feature is Kids Discovery College!
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Continuing Education Department wrapped up its third pickleball class June 29th. Thirteen students completed the course.
"We have seen a huge increase in interest in these classes since we first started offering them this spring. I think people are realizing how much fun the sport is on top of being great exercise," Jimmy Smith, Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, said.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. One new student recently graduated from the program. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is a proud training partner of , who is currently offering scholarships for eligible individuals to complete truck driver training. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ's four-week professional driving academy is participating in the program. New classes start monthly and include 160 hours of training, DOT physical, drug screen, MVR and CDL permit.
Time is running out to sign up for Kids Discovery College 2023! Registration ends June 23rd and classes are filling up quickly. You don't want to miss this fun, educational summer opportunity for kids ages 8-16. This year's course options include:
Four ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students earned their Pharmacy Tech certifications after completing required courses and on-site pharmacy training. They were honored in a ceremony on Monday June 6. Juanita Martin was recognized as the top performer in the program.
Program courses included Medical Terminology, Intro to Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Mathematics, Drug Classification and Clinicals.
Attention Pittsburg Businesses!
ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ, in partnership with the , will host a one-day intensive seminar on September 23rd that will cover a variety of topics relevant to the production of low-risk raw milk. Anyone interested in learning more about raw milk can benefit from this hands-on training!

Classes will be held July 10th-20th (Monday-Thursday) on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus and at the Culinary Arts school in downtown Pittsburg. As always, we will have a great schedule of fun, educational classes for kids to choose from. Look for the full schedule and registration dates in April.
