TCCTA President and Acting Executive Director visits ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº recently welcomed Will Parent, President and Acting Executive Director of the Texas Community College Teachers Association (TCCTA) and Professor of Government at San Jacinto College–North Campus. This marks only the third visit by a TCCTA Executive Director in ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s 40-year history.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº recently partnered with Pittsburg High School to participate in its College and Career Fair, giving students the opportunity to explore a wide range of academic pathways and future careers. Representatives from ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Student Services, Math, Science, Health Sciences, Funeral Services, and other programs were on hand to visit with students and answer questions. Melody Mott, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº College Liaison, helped coordinate the event.

Mount Pleasant Community Fund gives $12,311 for scholarships

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation recently received a check for $12,311 from Jerry Hearron on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Community Fund. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº hosted a welcome brunch reception on Wednesday, Nov. 19, to honor Dr. Kevin Rose, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s sixth president. The event was held in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts foyer and served as an opportunity for the campus community to officially celebrate Rose’s new leadership role.

Elena Roach earns First Team All-Region Honors after standout freshman season

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº goalkeeper Elena Roach made an immediate impact in her freshman campaign, earning First Team All-Region recognition after a remarkable season between the posts.

Roach appeared in 13 of the team’s 16 matches—starting all 13—and recorded an impressive 171 saves, showcasing her consistency, athleticism, and reliability. She finished the year with a strong .774 save percentage, anchoring the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº defense throughout the season.
