Student Services pop-up event planned for spring registration

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº will host a Spring Registration Pop-Up to help students prepare for the upcoming semester. Students are encouraged to stop by, meet with their College Navigator, and get hands-on assistance with planning and registering for spring classes. Guests can also enjoy free coffee, hot chocolate, and popcorn while they get the support they need for a successful start to 2026.

Santa's Workshop coming to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº December 11th

The holiday spirit is coming to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº as the Office of Student Development hosts Santa’s Workshop on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building. The come-and-go event is free and open to all students, employees, and their families.

Phi Theta Kappa wraps up 40 Stories for 40 Years video project

Phi Theta Kappa’s 40 Stories for 40 Years project is now complete, and the full video series is ready for the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº community to enjoy. Over the past several months, PTK students have worked diligently to collect, film, and edit 40 heartfelt stories from individuals whose lives have been touched by ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. This conversational series beautifully reflects what so many already know to be true — that ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº feels like a family, and its impact extends far beyond the classroom.

Phi Theta Kappa chapter volunteers at Black Beauty Ranch

Phi Theta Kappa members from ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº and Trinity Valley Community College volunteered at Black Beauty Ranch, a world-renowned animal sanctuary near Murchison Texas, which cares for nearly 650 domestic and exotic animals on over 1,400 acres. The residents at Black Beauty Ranch were saved from research laboratories, law enforcement seizures and cruelty cases. Others have been rescued from roadsize zoos or were former victims of the exotic pet trade. Still others came from public lands where they were threatened with extermination by the federal government.

Board of Trustees holds November meeting

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) Board of Trustees held its regular November meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25th. All action items on the agenda were approved.

President’s Report

President Dr. Kevin Rose opened by expressing appreciation for the welcome reception held for him last week and noted how meaningful the community’s support has been during ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s 40th anniversary year.

TCCTA President and Acting Executive Director visits ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº recently welcomed Will Parent, President and Acting Executive Director of the Texas Community College Teachers Association (TCCTA) and Professor of Government at San Jacinto College–North Campus. This marks only the third visit by a TCCTA Executive Director in ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s 40-year history.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº recently partnered with Pittsburg High School to participate in its College and Career Fair, giving students the opportunity to explore a wide range of academic pathways and future careers. Representatives from ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Student Services, Math, Science, Health Sciences, Funeral Services, and other programs were on hand to visit with students and answer questions. Melody Mott, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº College Liaison, helped coordinate the event.
