Members of Alpha Mu Chi, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ’s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, won 5 of 13 prestigious Texas Star regional scholarships given out at the 2025 Phi Theta Kappa Texas Honors Institute held at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. The scholarships are available to members of Phi Theta Kappa throughout the state of Texas, with awards based on demonstrated leadership and academic excellence. 

Two of the top scholarships, each worth $750, are named after advisors in the student’s chapter.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Work4College Program celebrated the end of summer with its annual appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 6th. Work4College donors, supervisors, students and their families attended the event in the Student Union Building. This is the 11th year of the program, and more than 80 students participated.  

Play It Forward is a community-sponsored special benefit concert created to bring the area together in support of Mary Lynn Palmer, a beloved local resident currently battling cancer. According to the sponsors, the event promises a heartfelt evening of live music and giving, featuring performances by country music legend Gene Watson, The Rodney Whatley Band, and Stacy Musgrove.

Whether you're looking to earn a degree, train for a new career, or pick up a few courses, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ offers flexible learning options to fit your life—including online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Four new students recently graduated from the program. 

The four-week professional driving academy includes 160 hours of training and the cost includes the DOT physical, drug screen, MVR and CDL permit. Students spend 50 hours in the classroom and 110 hours on the road driving. The cost is $4,500 and financial aid may be available.

Funeral Services Education at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is one of the college's largest and fastest-growing programs. Instruction is almost completely online, with students being placed in hands-on internships in their own communities across the country. The experience culminates with a clinical week on the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ campus prior to graduation, where students get to meet their classmates and instructors face-to-face and practice the skills they have learned.

Dr. Chris T. McAllister, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Biology, and two ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ independent study students, Gracie Gray and Stephanie Hernandez and Dr. McAllister's son, Nikolas, traveled to near Hawkins, Texas, to survey fish parasites from the Sabine River. 

Dr. McAllister received an ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ grant to study fish parasites in NE Texas waters. They were joined by UT-Tyler biology faculty, Dr. Lance Williams and his wife, Marsha Williams, and two

Young baseball players are invited to join the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Eagles for a fun-filled Baseball Kids Camp happening August 30-31 at Eagle Field at Bob Baker Stadium.

Designed for children ages 5 to 12, the two-day camp will provide a mix of skill-building instruction and high-energy fun, all led by ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ baseball players.
