The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Board of Trustees met for its regular October meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd. All seven trustees were in attendance. The meeting opened with Dr. Ron Clinton giving the President’s Report.

Each fall the Phi Theta Kappa Texas Region Alumni Association give out highly competitive Walter B. Cooper Scholarships to students who are well-rounded in the four Hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa: scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. This year, three ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students were among the twelve recipients named at the conclusion of the Texas Leadership Conference recently held on the Tyler Junior College campus: Monserrat Rivero-Sanchez, Lochlan Scott, and Noah Pettey.

The primary purpose of this position is the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. At a minimum, the related activities include instructionn, academic advising, serving on various committees, and participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations. An instructor performs all other duties as directed by the appropriate program director, Dean, Vice President for Instruction, or the President.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ’s theatre department hosted an acting movement workshop on Friday, October 18th, 2024. This was done in partnership with Paris Junior College’s theatre department and director Will Walker. About thirty students were in attendance, including three high school students from Chapel Hill.
Four members of Alpha Mu Chi, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ’s award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa attended the Texas Leadership Conference held in Tyler, Texas, October 11 - 13, 2024.
ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ student Monse Rivero-Sanchez currently serves as the International Vice-President for Division II of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. In that capacity, she has the opportunity to travel and speak before groups in a wide variety of locations. She was recently the keynote speaker at the Fall Minn-Kota Regional Conference held October 11-12 on the campus of St Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The Minn-Kota Region of Phi Theta Kappa consists of 30 chapters in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Foundation held its annual Golf Classic on Monday, Oct. 21st at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. The tournament raised over $20,000 to support the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Work4College Program.
The Guaranty Bank and Trust team won the six-man-scramble, shooting 19 under. The winning team (pictured from left) included Tyler Verner, Trent Abbott, Jey Yancey, Patrick Redfearn, and Jace Baker. In the closest to the hole contest, Grady Townsend won first place and Robby Dunn won second place.
