The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region will have the third rodeo of the 2021-2022 season in Mount Pleasant, Texas October 15th-16th. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) will be the host of the Rodeo held at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Priefert Arena located on Greenhill Road in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Panola rodeo wrap-up

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Rodeo team hit the road to open up the 2021-2022 season starting with the short road trip to Panola College Rodeo September 24-25, and the long road trip to Uvalde, Texas for the Southwest Texas Junior College Rodeo October 1-2.

It’s time to put on your best Halloween costume, dust off your trick-or-treat basket and head out to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº for the 33rd Annual Scare Affair.

The event is from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 on the plaza of the main ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº campus (located on FM 1735 near Chapel Hill ISD). There will be free candy for all trick-or-treaters, low-cost games for all ages, a costume contest with cash prizes and much more!

Andrew Daniel to perform concert with mother, son

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôºâ€™s own Dr. Andrew Daniel will be joined by two members of his family for an instrumental trio performance on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Daniel, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Professor of Music, will play guitar while his son, André Daniel, performs the violin, and his mother, Sherry Daniel, accompanies on piano.

Save the date: Community Health Resource Fair

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training will host a Community Health Resource Fair on Friday, Oct. 22 at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center. The free event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m and will include vendors and agencies providing information about their services, food and door prizes. Titus Regional Medical Center will also be on site to offer free COVID-19 vaccines.

Travel study course to New York planned

Are you interested in traveling to New York City and getting college credit at the same time? If so, you don't want to miss an upcoming meeting about the 2022 Travel Study Course. A group of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº faculty members and students will be traveling to NYC May 21-25, 2022. An informational session about the trip will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7 in Humanities 107 at 12:30 p.m.
