The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Foundation recently received a $12,000 donation from the United States Tennis Association. Dr. Ron Clinton (left), ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ President, Jimmy Smith, Coordinator of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the check. The gift will be used to upgrade ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ’s tennis courts and provide scholarships for local youth to participate in the 2023 Kids Discovery College.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Foundation recently received a $42,039.06 donation from the estate of Earl Christian Williamson. Nita May (left), Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the check. Williamson was a computer science faculty member at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ from 1988 to 1998.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Continuing Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2023 Firefighter Academy. Classes begin January 17th, 2023 and will be held at the Mount Pleasant Central Fire Station. The program meets on evenings during the week and on alternating Saturdays. 

Be on the lookout for members of the ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Eagles Baseball and Softball teams if you happen to be out shopping in Mount Pleasant today (Friday, Dec. 2nd). Players will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army from 9 a.m. until the evening at Wal Mart, Super One and Mount Pleasant Brookshire's. We are proud of our student athletes for their commitment to serving the community!

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will host its December 2022 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 9th at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Seating is limited, so only guests who have tickets will be admitted into the auditorium. Graduation will be streamed live on  and  for those who are unable to attend in person. 

The Work4College Program is a great way for you to attend ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ without acquiring debt and provide a hands-on learning experience through a department on campus. The application is available to fill out and submit online at . The deadline to apply is April 14, 2023.

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 23rd through Friday, Nov. 25th for Thanksgiving. We hope everyone has a wonderful break spending time with friends and family.

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Foundation held its 2022 Scholarship Brunch on Friday, Nov. 19th in the Student Union Building. This was the first time since the beginning of the pandemic that ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ was able to host the annual event.

Last week Dr. Paula Wilhite, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Professor of Mathematics/Division Chair for Math, Physics and Engineering, presented “The Beauty of Mathematics in Beethoven’s Compositions” at the annual conference of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) in Toronto, Canada. Included in her presentation was the beauty of the patterns of mathematics in Ludwig Beethoven’s classical and romantic styles of musical works that may explain how his creativity appeared unaffected by his tragic deafness.
