ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Rodeo will make a return trip to Casper, Wyoming June 15-21 for the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR). The Men’s team had three people in contention for a finals qualification heading into the final National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Rodeo at Hill College and the Men’s team members not only got it done and qualified for the CNFR but won the Hill College Rodeo to end the season.

Two ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Biology 2289 students, Gracie Gray and Stephanie Hernandez, and Dr. Chris T. McAllister, Natural Science Division, traveled to the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station (OMBS), Big Fork, Arkansas, May 25-30, 2025, to continue their research on fish parasites from the Ouachita River watershed.

Phi Theta Kappa members have until June 16 to apply for one of the 200 Leaders of Promise Scholarships. The $1,000 scholarship provides new Phi Theta Kappa members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in an associate degree program.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is excited to kick off the 11th year of its innovative Work4College Program. After holding orientation sessions earlier this month, 81 students will start the program on June 9th.  Of that total, 64 students will be working on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ campus and 17 more will be working at local high schools.

Dr. Melissa Fulgham was among the over 400 historians from over 20 states who gathered at Texas State University in San Marcos for the inaugural Alliance for Texas History Conference. Fulgham, Professor of History and Division Chair for the Humanities and Social Sciences, continued her efforts to spread the story of Annie McLean Moores Towler.

Dr. Kevin Rose was officially named the sixth President of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ at the May board of trustees meeting on Tuesday, May 27th. He will transition from his current role as Senior Vice President for Student Success beginning June 1st.

The funds are being used to establish the Charlie and Helen Hampton Memorial Endowed Scholarship, which will be awarded to graduates of Paul Pewitt High School.
