��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ

The Adult Education Department at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and English Language programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration beginning August 19, 2024.  While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

Did you know that Communities In Schools (CIS) of Northeast Texas serves students on 40 campuses in 13 school districts and nine counties? Administered by ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ, CIS has 44 employees on staff that provide services to students to help overcome barriers to their success. CIS recently held their annual back to school training for the 2024-2025 school year. CIS Coordinators convened for two days of education and training that included:

The ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Two new students recently graduated from the program. The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is excited to announce its 2024-2025 season, featuring a diverse lineup of performances that promise to captivate and entertain audiences throughout the upcoming year. This season’s theme, “The Stage is Set for Your Entertainment,” highlights an array of shows designed to offer something for everyone.

The Fall 2024 semester starts on Monday, Aug. 26th. Everyone at ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ is excited to welcome both new and returning students. Below are a few tips to help students have a stress-free, successful first week at college: 

��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ will host its August 2024 commencement ceremony on Friday, Aug. 16th in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so only guests who have tickets will be admitted into the auditorium. Graduation will be streamed live on  and  for those who are unable to attend in person. 

Members of Alpha Mu Chi, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ’s five-star, award-winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, won 4 of 13 prestigious Texas Star regional scholarships given out at the 2024 Phi Theta Kappa Texas Honors Institute held July 26-28 at Texas Women’s University in Denton. The scholarships are available to members of Phi Theta Kappa throughout the state of Texas, with awards based on demonstrated leadership and academic excellence. ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ students won the top four spots in the state. 

Eight members of Alpha Mu Chi, ��ɫ����������ƵӰԺ’s five-star, award winning chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, attended the Phi Theta Kappa Texas Honors Institute July 26 - 28 on the campus of Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.  During the conference attendees stayed in dorms on the TWU campus and ate in the campus dining hall.  All sessions were held on the beautiful tree-filled campus.
