ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº mourns the loss of Chuck and Sarah Johns

All of us at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº are deeply saddened by the loss of Chuck and Sarah Johns last week. Mr. Johns began serving on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees in 1996 and he has been a faithful member since then. He was elected Chairman of the Board in 2020 and remained in that role until his passing. He was an active member of the Community College Association of Texas Trustees (CCATT) and worked at the state level to advocate for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº.

Foundation receives over $18,000 gift from Mount Pleasant Community Fund

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation recently received a check for $18,074 from Jerry Hearron on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Community Fund. The Adult Education Department at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and English Language programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration beginning January 21, 2025.  While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº extends its sincerest condolences to the family of Sid Greer, who passed away on December 26th, 2024.

Mr. Greer served on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees faithfully for 23 years. During that time he served as Board Secretary for 12 years.

The search for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº's next president has begun

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº (ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº) is excited to announce that it has begun the search for its next president. The new leader will provide visionary leadership to advance the college’s mission and strategic goals. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the president will oversee all academic and administrative areas. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree and have at least five years of senior executive experience, preferably in a community college setting.
