Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery give $1,300 to support ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº honors projects

Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery (pictured left) recently gave a $1,300 gift to the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation. The funds will be used for the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund, specifically for the Honors program to help with their production of a film based on the life of Harriet Potter Ames, the Feminist Legend of the American Revolution, and with the Presidential Scholars Program for their research and documentation of the Caddo Collection owned by ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation recently held its annual golf tournament at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. This was the 26th†consecutive year of the tournament. Participating teams included: AEP/Swepco, American National Bank, Daingerfield Country Club, Bowie-Cass, Cypress Bank, Guaranty Bond Bank, Luminant, Northeast Texas Credit Union, Texas Heritage National Bank, and an ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº team sponsored by East Texas Wealth Planning Advisors.

Reception planned to honor Elizabeth Whatley

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation invites the public to attend a reception in honor of Elizabeth Whatley on Tuesday, April 30 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Whatley is being presented with the Distinguished Benefactor Award for her generosity and support of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº over the years. Hors d'oevres will be served and a short presentation will begin at 5 p.m.


Whatley and her late husband, James, have contributed more than $2.6 million to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº since classes began in 1985.

Television's hit show†Duck Dynasty†is headed to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander himself, and his youngest son, Jep,†will speak on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº campus on Saturday, April 6. The event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This event is hosted by the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Foundation and will take place at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº?s Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, Feb. 25.†All tickets are $20 and include a meal and admission to hear Phil and Jep speak.
