Bill Priefert leaves ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº board confident in college's future
Bill Priefert recently indicated that he will resign from the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Board of Trustees. His resignation letter was accepted at the December board meeting Thursday night.†The board adjourned without taking action on an agenda item calling to appoint someone to fill the unexpired term of Place 6, which Priefert filled for 11 years.

It is that time of year when the weather can be unpredictable in this area. ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº wants to make sure that all students and employees have access to timely, accurate information regarding possible weather-related closures.
In case of bad weather, the decision to close or not will usually be made by 6 a.m. for day classes and by 3 p.m. for evening classes.
ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº students participate in disaster training
†††Students and faculty members from the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº LVN Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, and Medical Assisting programs recently got hands-on, real world training as they participated in a disaster preparation exercise in Atlanta, Texas. The full-scale, 72-hour exercise was directed by Homeland Security and in conjunction with the ArkTex Council of Governments.
†††The goal of the event was to give members of disaster teams, including first responders, a chance to find out how to function in a crisis situation.
Pepsi gives $15,000 to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº
Pepsi recently made a $15,000 contribution to ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº. The funds were designated to benefit the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Eagles Athletic program. Ms. Beth Thompson (right), ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Vice President for Administrative Services, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Vice President for Advancement, received the gift on the college's behalf.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº Reindeer Run 5k scheduled for Dec. 7
The SIFE/Enactus Club of ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº will host the Fourth Annual Reindeer 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 8 a.m. The run will be held on the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓÆµÓ°Ôº campus and there is no entry fee for participants.
