The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Continuing Education Department recently held a commencement ceremony for graduates of the Summer 2016 Police Academy. Graduates included:

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ is also accepting applications for its next evening academy, which begins March 13. Classes meet Monday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The first week of classes can be a stressful time in the life of a college student. To help alleviate this stress, and to encourage students to meet new people, we have planned a Welcome Back Social for students, faculty and staff.

The ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Foundation is now accepting applications for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship fund provides five awards of $1,000 each for ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ students transferring to a four-year university.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will be closed Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The college will resume regular business hours and kick off the first day of the Spring 2017 semester on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Students will report to their Monday-Wednesday classes for the first time on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will be closed Dec. 19-30 for winter break. Offices will resume regular business hours Monday, Jan. 2. Spring classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 17. Returning students may register for classes online during the break in their account. New students can and online.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

 

Sondra Fowler (right) was sworn in by Gov. Bill Ratliff at the December meeting of the ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Board of Trustees. Fowler, of Daingerfield, was appointed to replace John Bryan, who resigned from the board in September.†She will fill the seat until the next board election in 2018.

ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will host its winter commencement ceremony Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Graduates should plan to arrive no later than†6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Free graduations portraits will be taken in the SUB beginning at 6 p.m.

Diploma pick-up for graduates†who filed prior to the October 13^th†deadline will be in the back hall of the Whatley Center after the ceremony ends.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will present Christmas with the Nelsons Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, twin sons of Ricky Nelson, Christmas with the Nelsons tells the story of three family Christmases in the lives of America?s Favorite Family- The Nelsons.
