Special guests planned for Northeast Texas Poetry Reading

The Tenth Annual Northeast Texas Poetry Reading at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ will include special remarks by two local educators. †Dr. Elaine Beason, a retired professor of Texas A&M University-Texarkana, and Kristin Ellermann, a young educator who taught with the Peace Corps in the Republic of Georgia, and also as a Disney instructor in Shanghai, China, will supplement the reading of winning poems with observations about local life.

Chuck Barkow makes memorial gift to Whatley Campaign

Chuck Barkow recently gave $1,000 to sponsor two chairs in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ. The seats are dedicated in memory of Jill Barkow and Holly Hardman. Barkow (second from left), is pictured presenting the gift to Nita May, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Director of Development (left), Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ÂÒÉ«ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞÊÓƵӰԺ Vice President for Advancement. Theater seats are available for sponsorship at $500 each.
