Dr. Kevin Rose was officially named the sixth President of 乱色无码人妻视频影院 at the May board of trustees meeting on Tuesday, May 27th. He will transition from his current role as Senior Vice President for Student Success beginning June 1st.
鈥淚 am honored to pass the office of President to Dr. Rose and am confident that he will do a wonderful job furthering the college鈥檚 mission of empowering our student鈥檚 success and expanding educational opportunities for our community,鈥 Dr. Ron Clinton, current 乱色无码人妻视频影院 President, said. Clinton will remain on campus for the remaining few weeks in an advisory capacity to assist Rose with the transition.

President鈥檚 Report
Legislative Update
In his president鈥檚 report, Clinton gave an update on the final days of the 89th Texas Legislative session. He said that, overall, outcomes from the session have been very positive for 乱色无码人妻视频影院 and community colleges as a whole.
鈥淲hile there are a few bills pending that have some problematic aspects for the Higher Education sector, we are quite pleased with the overall outcome of the session. We are very grateful to our local district legislators for listening to our needs and concerns and advocating for us in Austin,鈥 Clinton said.
Clinton reported that there are some concerning changes being proposed at the federal level in the recently passed House Reconciliation Bill that would restrict Pell Grant eligibility for a certain segment of 乱色无码人妻视频影院鈥檚 part-time students.
鈥淢any of our community college students work and have families to care for while they attend college. This can make it very difficult for them to take on higher course loads,鈥 Clinton said. 鈥淩educing or eliminating Pell Grants for part-time students taking less than 7.5 hours a semester could be detrimental to a large number of students who rely on them the most to achieve their educational goals.鈥
Campus Updates
Clinton reported that 乱色无码人妻视频影院 celebrated another record-breaking May graduation earlier this month. There were 463 candidates for graduation with 305 participating in the three ceremonies on May 17th.
He also congratulated the Adult Education Department for hosting another successful GED graduation that same week. Twenty-five students completed the requirements for the GED (General Equivalency Diploma) and 12 were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society.
Giving Report
Dr. Jon McCullough, 乱色无码人妻视频影院 Executive Vice President for Advancement, reported that the Foundation raised $479,750.99 during the month of April. This included East Texas Giving Day fundraising and three new endowed scholarships.
鈥淎pril was an outstanding month for fundraising and we are so grateful for every single gift. We have a wonderful community of generous friends that are really making a difference in the lives of 乱色无码人妻视频影院 students,鈥 McCullough said.
